Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Mother
Apple cider vinegar, also known as ACV is a vinegar made from fermented apples. It has gained a great deal of popularity recently due to media attention around its potential benefits. Making vinegar is one of the oldest fermentation processes known to humankind. The organic apple cider vinegar mother has been made for thousands of years. You will find it is used for everything from dressing a salad to a household cleaning product.
Apple cider vinegar is very easy to make at home. We sell raw, unpasteurised organic apple cider vinegar mothers. From our ACV starter mothers you will be able to make a lifetimes supply of apple cider vinegar.
The ACV mother is a complex structure of bacteria and acetic acids. It looks similar to a Kombucha Scoby and forms in the same way. Most shop bought apple cider vinegar (ACV) does not include the mother in the bottling process because it’s been filtered and distilled out during the pasteurisation process. That process also kills any of the bacteria found in the raw version.
Raw, unpasteurised vinegar have a murky appearance and still contain parts of the mother culture. The bacteria continue to form new mothers even after the initial mother used has been removed. If you are looking to use apple cider vinegar we highly recommend you use the raw, unpasteurised version.
