Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you’re not doing it right, it can affect your mood all the way until lunchtime, and sourdough toast is great. However, sometimes you just need to treat yourself to give you that kick you need to have a great and productive day. that’s why we throw in some breakfast treats into our diet so that we can start our day the right way. so here is our own special recipe for Sourdough Pancakes, it’s great for the digestive system and also great for the gut! a guilty treat made guilt-free! We hope you enjoy making them, just as much as you will enjoy eating them.
Step 1: Excluding the butter and the oil, empty all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and whisk them all together with a pinch of salt, until it turns into a batter. once it is at this consistency whisk in the melted butter.
Step 2: Heat some oil and a knob of butter in a pan to ensure that the mix will not stick while frying, do this until they start to sizzle
Step 3: Start pouring the mix into the pan, into individual 7-10cm pancakes (if it starts to sizzle aggressively lower the heat). the pancakes should be cooked until bubbles start to form on the top, once this has happened flip the pancakes and cook the other side
Step 4: The Sourdough pancakes should take around 2 minutes to cook on each side, once cooked serve with your desired topping and eat warm!

1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp baking powder
200g sourdough starter
2 eggs
260ml milk
50g melted butter ( +extra for frying)
