We hope you enjoy making them, just as much as you will enjoy eating them.
Prep Time: 10 Minutes Cook Time: 20 Minutes
200g self-raising flour
1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp baking powder
200g sourdough starter
50g melted butter ( +extra for frying)
Step 1: Excluding the butter and the oil, empty all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and whisk them all together with a pinch of salt, until it turns into a batter. once it is at this consistency whisk in the melted butter.
Step 2: Heat some oil and a knob of butter in a pan to ensure that the mix will not stick while frying, do this until they start to sizzle
Step 3: Start pouring the mix into the pan, into individual 7-10cm pancakes (if it starts to sizzle aggressively lower the heat). the pancakes should be cooked until bubbles start to form on the top, once this has happened flip the pancakes and cook the other side
Step 4: The Sourdough pancakes should take around 2 minutes to cook on each side, once cooked serve with your desired topping and eat warm!
