Milk Kefir is definitely not for everyone, I mean even I struggle to drink it, however, we think that we have come up with a perfect alternative to drinking fermented milk. introducing our Milk Kefir cake base recipe, here is a simple recipe for making a beautiful Milk Kefir Cake that you can use to make loads of different types of cakes from victoria sponge to lemon drizzle this is the recipe for you!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 45 – 55 minutes
Ingredients
– 375 grams of all-purpose flour
– 12g of baking powder
– 3 eggs
– 200g of granulated white sugar
– 400g MilkKefir
– 25ml sunflower oil
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 185C. and then place baking paper on the bottom of your cake tin. Take your baking tray with the baking paper in it and grease the sides and for good measure put a thin layer non-stick baking spray or flour.
Step 2. place your baking powder and flour into a separate bowl, and in another bowl whisk your 3 eggs and sugar until it has created a creamy consistency. Step 4. Add the flour and baking powder to the mixture and mix it all together until it has all thoroughly combined, once it has been mixed together pour your cake batter into the greased cake tin.
Step 3. Heat up your milk kefir to 35 Celcius and once you have done this, add it to the eggy sugar mixture. as well as this add the vanilla extra
ct and the oil.
Step 4. Add the flour and baking powder to the mixture and mix it all together until it has all thoroughly combined, once it has been mixed together pour your cake batter into the greased cake tin.
Step 5. place the baking tray into the oven for 45-55 minutes until the cake is dry in the middle. one it has been properly baked, take it out and leave to cool for 15-30 minutes.
