Fermentation Jar Hat / Cover

When I started making kefir I purchased a starter kit with a fermentation jar and then a second for storage. My grains have increased in volume many times over and so has production. I’m up to a litre a day and can’t bear to discard grains. So I’m hoping to pass a batch to a neighbour and wanted to provider her with everything she needed. So I bought two of these lids to use with kilner jars I had sitting unused in the cupboard. They work well! Production continues to expand 😀

I purchased a 250ml and a 500ml Kilner (as suggested in this website) wide mouth jar but the cover is way too big for both of them, so it is useless.
I have searched fruitlessly for a wider jar without luck.
